SINCE IT WAS ESTABLISHED UNTIL 2004

INTRODUCTION

 

FIRST:  The Establishment of the Faculty:

The faculty was set up by the presidential decision no. 287 in 1994 where education started in the year 1995/1996.

SECOND: The scientific degrees:

According to the suggestion of the faculty the college offers the following scientific degrees:

·        The Bachelor Degree in pharmaceutical sciences.

 

The Advanced Studies diploma in of the following specializations:

·        Toxicology and Forensic Pharmaceutical Analysis

·        Clinical Pharmacy

·        Hospital Pharmacy

·        Pharmaceutical Technology

·        Quality Control & Quality Assurance

·        Food Analysis

·        Herbal Drugs

·        Biotechnology

·        Medical plants

·        Pharmaceutical Chemistry

·        Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry

·        Biochemical Analysis

·        Cosmetics

·        Microbiology

·        Science of Drugs

 

Masters degree in pharmaceutical sciences in one of the following specializations:

·        Drugs and Toxicology

·        Clinical pharmacy

·        Pharmaceutics

·        Drug Technology

·        Biochemistry

·        Pharmaceutical Chemistry

·        Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry

·        Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry

·        Microbiology and Immunology

·        Pharmacognosy

 

A Professor’s Degree in the pharmaceutical majors that previously possess a Master’s Degree.

THIRD: The Education period in the Bachelor stage:

To attain the bachelor degree in pharmaceutical sciences there are 5 years including the pre-pharmacy stage.

FOURTH: Language of Education:

English

FIFTH: The Scientific Departments:

3.  Pharmaceutics.

4.  Drug Technology.

5.  Organic Chemistry.

6.  Pharmaceutical Chemistry.

7.  Microbiology & Immunology.

8.  Pharmacognosy & Pharmacology

9.  Pharmaceutical Analytical chemistry.

 

SIXTH: The Faculty Rules & Regulations:

Education began in the faculty based on the system of Tanta’s rules since its establishment & it was followed by publishing new rules from the Minister of Higher education in 8/1/1998 for the faculty with the ministerial decision no.37.

(To publish the internal rules of faculties by recommendation of the higher institute for universities in 16/8/1994.)

SEVENTH: Modifications in the Faculty Rules & Regulations:

For removing some pieces of the syllabus or adding new ones, some partial changes were done to the rules based on the following ministerial decisions (others having scientific importance):

1565 in 2/12/1999                                   399 in 28/3/2001

1128 in 8/2001                                        949 in 17/6/2002

1816 in 15/10/2002                                 1152 in 6/8/2003 

 

The Sites of Education in the Faculty

The period from 1995 till 2000 was in the main university:

Administration: The first & third floors in the building of Science development.

Labs: The temporary faculty labs on the fifth floor on top of the botany section in the faculty of sciences as well as two small labs on top of zoology section in the faculty of sciences.

The members of the teaching staff & the employees of youth care for all sections were on the ground floor of the central lab building including 7 rooms from aluminum windows & glass in the faculty of sciences, ASU.

The period from 2001 till 2004 was in the main university:

Administration: The first & third floors in the building of Science development.

Labs: - Temporary labs on the 5th floor above Botany section of Faculty of Sciences.

-         Two small labs above Zoology Department on the 5th floor.

-         Redistribution of the places of all the Scientific and Administrative Sections in the ground floor in the Central Lab Building of the Faculty of Sciences. This included the Gnedy Building, a floor in the new building, 3 rooms from aluminum windows & glass, 7 rooms for each section were added aside the mosque.

-         Two more labs for the students.

-         Two labs for advanced studies

-         A lab for designing drugs via computers

-         Cafeteria

-         Youth Care for administrating youth affairs, cultural relations and Advanced Studies.

-         Two Store rooms

-         Two rooms for weekly seminars, and for teaching Advanced Studies

-         Room for Lab Technicians

Lectures: Were held in the halls of Helal & Gnedy.

The educational year 2004-2005:

In it moving to the new building took place, which is in Alwehda Alarabia St. behind Ain Shams hospital. Education began in it for all students & is considered from the most marvelous & beautiful buildings in Egypt which recommends the faculty to be awarded the universal award for education & the graduates to be awarded the trusty & global confession for their scientific certifications.
