The faculty has been established according to the republic decision number 287 for the year 1994, and the studying for the preparatory year began in the academic year of 1995/1996, where the number of students at the faculty the year it was established was 277 students.

    The number of students registered in the faculty in the academic year 1999/2000 is 2000 students. And the staff member number and their assistants, from assistant professors, teachers and assistants ,  at the academic year 1999/2000 is 95 members.

The Old Faculty Location:
      The faculty was temporarily inside the campus, particularly in the buildings of the faculty of science, Ain Shams University, until finishing of the establishment and the preparation of the new building which is located in the street of “African union organization” beside the Ain Shams University specialized hospital in Abbaseya, and the building is designed according to the latest designs and it is supplied with the inferior structure, which allows it to be a unique institute.

   So let's take a tour in our old faculty, which is a virtual tour in the faculty supported with photos and illustrations.

1. Reach our old faculty
      Unfortunately, our new faculty building was not yet finished. Instead, we were having our lectures and labs in faculty of science buildings located in the campus. The following diagram shows the map of the campus, with directions to reach the faculty of science...

2. Administration
      The "Science Teaching Development Center" building consists of three floors plus the ground floor. The ground floor contained the dean, vice dean for teaching and student affairs, vice dean for society and environment affairs and vice dean for postgraduate studies affairs offices, where you can go if you need help in serious problems.

      In the same floor there was the "Research unit" where research and development were carried out.

      Going up to the second floor, you will find the student affairs office where administrative stuff were carried like having your ID, etc. Also there were the faculty curator office, treasury and the library.

3. Youth care
      The youth care personnel and the faculty students are the main executors for almost all the faculty activities. The "Youth care" office in the underground floor of the new administrative building of the faculty of science, which we called "Partition".

4. Lectures
      Most of the lectures were held in "Geneidy" lecture hall which is in the second floor of the small extension of the faculty of science building. Some lectures were given in "Helal" lecture hall the ground floor of the main building of the faculty of science.

      Prepharmacy (up till now)students have their lectures in "Hegazy" lecture hall in the ground floor of the faculty of science main building and in "Noah" and "Hammad" lecture halls in the first floor of  faculty of science main building.

5. Labs
     Most of the labs were located in the fourth floor of the Botany building of the faculty of science, known as "The fifth floor" (students usually count the ground floor), where the "Research lab" was located. Two other labs were located in the fourth floor of the Mathematics building of the faculty of science. The rest of the labs were found in the first floor of the new extension of the faculty of science building.

      Prepharmacy (up till now) students have most of their labs in the faculty of science main building, the Chemistry and Physics labs behind the new extension of the faculty of science building.

6. Others
      The most popular meeting place for pharmacy students was the square in front of "Hegazy" lecture hall, known as "Square Hegazy" or "The square". Also "Helal square" has found a considerable popularity among pharmacy students.

      Food and beverages were sold out in "Mido" cafeteria located behind "Hegazy" lecture hall and in the small kiosks found just between the faculty of science main building and the faculty of computer science and information systems building.

      Some mid-term exams and all prepharmacy exams(up till now) were carried out in the partition. The final pharmacy  exams were all carried out in the faculty of science main building.
