Chair’s Message

Chemistry is often referred to as the central science because the application of chemical principles is central to many other sciences. Chemists seek understanding of all aspects of the physical and biological worlds at the molecular level. Analytical Chemists have developed extremely powerful and sophisticated experimental and analytical techniques to probe the structure of molecules and chemical reactions.  These techniques are critical and fundamental to solving sophisticated industrial, environmental, medical and biomedical problems.

The pharmaceutical analytical chemistry Department in Ain Shams University provides students with a sound in-depth education in chemistry. Analytical chemistry students gain the intellectual skills and confidence to confront and solve difficult problems.

The Department:

Our mission is to examine the interdisciplinary aspects of analytical chemistry in the pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences. Consideration is given to the development of analytical methods for application in drug stability studies, pharmacokinetics, analytical biochemistry, and quality control in the pharmaceutical industry. Pharmaceutical analytical chemistry requires a broad knowledge of chemistry, pharmacy, instrumentation, and statistical methods. Research projects include stability studies of pharmaceuticals and the analysis of pharmaceuticals in biological fluids.
